Why We Work With Special Populations

Why We Work With Special Populations

Because cookie-cutter care doesn't cut it.

At Practically Perfect Physical Therapy, you’ll often hear us say: “We treat people, not just conditions.” That’s more than a motto — it’s the heart of our practice.

Our clinic is built around the belief that everybody deserves thoughtful, personalized care — including those with complex needs, invisible conditions, or who’ve felt dismissed in other medical settings.

Who Are “Special Populations”?

In healthcare, “special populations” often include individuals who:

  • Live with chronic or complex medical conditions

  • Are recovering from trauma (physical, emotional, or medical)

  • Are neurodivergent or have sensory sensitivities

  • Are part of LGBTQIA+ communities

  • Are navigating pregnancy, postpartum, or menopause

  • Have disabilities or require adaptive approaches

  • Are infants, children, or older adults

  • Have had poor experiences with healthcare in the past

In other words… people like you. People like us.

We Saw the Gaps in Traditional Care — and Chose to Do Things Differently

So many of our patients arrive with stories like this:

“I saw three other providers and no one took me seriously.”
“They told me it was all in my head.”
“They said it was just normal because of my age.”
“They didn’t know how to help me — or didn’t even try.”

We decided our clinic would be the opposite of that.

Here, we take time to listen, to validate, and to dig deeper. If something’s bothering you, it matters — and we’ll help you figure out why.

We’re Not Afraid of Complexity

Some clinics shy away from challenging cases. We welcome them.

That’s why we’ve built a team with advanced training in:

  • Pelvic floor therapy for all genders, across the lifespan

  • Pediatric therapy for constipation, motor delays, sensory issues, and more

  • Orthopedic care for chronic pain, hypermobility, or post-surgical recovery

  • Neurological conditions like Parkinson’s, stroke, or MS

  • Trauma-informed treatment for survivors of birth trauma, sexual trauma, or medical PTSD

  • Dry needling, manual therapy, and other advanced modalities

  • Flexible care options for those who may need extra time, a caregiver present, or a kiddo in tow

We’re also happy to coordinate with your other providers — therapists, surgeons, specialists, school teams — because integrated care is better care.

What We Want You to Know

If you’ve ever felt…

  • Too complicated

  • Too sensitive

  • Too embarrassed

  • Too far gone

  • Too “different” for traditional care…

Please know: YOU'RE NOT TOO ANYTHING FOR US

We are here for the people who fall through the cracks of standard protocols. The ones with pages-long health histories. The parents whose kids need extra support. The people who’ve been misdiagnosed, dismissed, or gaslit.

This Isn’t a Factory. It’s a Practice That Sees You.

At Practically Perfect, you’re never just a number on a schedule.

We don’t herd people through a treatment mill.

We partner with you to build a plan that works — not just clinically, but logistically and emotionally, too.

That might mean slower sessions.

It might mean more check-ins.

It might mean stuffed animals, noise-canceling headphones, or visual schedules.

It always means respect and individualized care.
